Homeowner Impressed with how Solar Gard Window Film has Transformed the Privacy of Her Home

The country city of Wodonga is home to Carmel R., situated on the Victorian side of the New South Wales border.

Carmel was experiencing discomfort from excessive heat through a large east-facing window at her home during Victoria’s warmer months. The western side of her house is also prone to discomfort as it is exposed to the sun’s afternoon intense heat. In addition to the solar heat issues, the close proximity to the street of her front windows raised privacy concerns.

Carmel consulted with Alpine Tint’s Chris Wingard who recommended Solar Gard Silver 20 for its privacy factor and high heat rejection which would transform her front windows and provide the freedom she wanted. For the other windows Chris suggested Sterling 60 which also offers great heat rejection but without impacting the aesthetics of her house.

Now the film has been installed Carmel tells us she just loves the way it looks. “The increased privacy means that I can leave the blinds open during the day without people looking in as they walk past. And the considerable reduction in discomfort when the hot afternoon sun is blaring through the windows has rendered the rooms more useable at that time of day.”
“It’s only been a couple of weeks since the summer installation” says Carmel, “but I have already noticed a significant reduction in the heat in my rooms.”

Carmel went on to say that she is thrilled with the service Alpine Tint (located in Yackandandah, Victoria) gave her. She praised their reliable, professional manner and was so impressed with their product knowledge that she straight-away jumped on social media to recommend their services.

About the films

Made with thin layers of precious metals sputtered onto film, Solar Gard’s Silver films have a reflective outward appearance, providing a high level of privacy and heat rejection whilst offering a clear view from inside.
Solar Gard’s Sterling films are offered in an extensive range of shades. They reject heat while allowing in natural light, due to the spectrally selective technology used to produce them.
